DHI Water Treatment

ARGUS DAF Systems

Compact dissolved air flotation systems for small-flow wastewater treatment, oil removal, suspended solids reduction, and pretreatment ahead of polishing steps.

Compact DAF Treatment for Small-Flow Applications

ARGUS DAF units use fine air bubbles to attach to suspended solids, free oil, grease, and light flocculated material. The floated contaminants rise to the surface, where they are mechanically skimmed and removed from the treatment cell.

Oil & Solids Removal

Targets free oil, grease, suspended solids, and light flocculated contaminants through dissolved air flotation.

Compact Footprint

Built for lower-flow treatment needs where reliable performance is required without a large system footprint.

Simple Operation

Combines white water generation, dissolved air contact, mechanical surface skimming, and good water discharge.

Working Principle

Wastewater enters the DAF treatment compartment where mixing and flotation occur. A white water pump feeds the dissolved air tank, creating fine air bubbles that lift contaminants to the surface. Floated sludge is skimmed to the sludge outlet, while treated water exits through the good water outlet.

  • Fine bubble flotation for oils and suspended solids
  • Mechanical surface scraper for sludge removal
  • Low chemical demand when properly conditioned
  • Suitable as pretreatment ahead of polishing steps
  • Simple and reliable operation

Typical Applications

  • Oily wastewater
  • Industrial wastewater
  • Food processing wastewater
  • Chemical wastewater
  • Printing and dyeing wastewater
  • General pretreatment service

Best-Fit Use Case

ARGUS DAF units are best suited for compact wastewater treatment applications where reliable oil and solids removal is required at lower flow rates. For higher-volume produced water or oilfield applications, DHI can pair larger DAF systems with upstream oil separation, chemical conditioning, sludge handling, and polishing equipment.

Specifications are typical and are subject to change depending on water quality, contaminant loading, chemical conditioning, and operating conditions.
