Gary Coates
Chief Executive Officer

Gary joined DHI as CEO in June of 2016, bringing with him 31 years of oil and gas experience covering a wide range of operational and leadership roles.

His career began working onshore and offshore field operations in North and West Africa, serving the production well testing, drill stem testing, and production asset management in remote-location early production facilities. Later in his career, he moved into management and leadership roles in Latin America, North Africa, and the Middle East, starting new market operations, growing business in tough markets, and developing world-class teams

In his time at TETRA Technologies, Gary developed the production testing division to be a leading global player and developed the flowback and well testing business segment to be the most profitable and geographically widespread division in the company.
Gary has been in executive roles in leading oilfield service companies since 2001 and a Field Engineer since 1988, bringing a vast range of technical, strategic, and innovative skills to the company.

Gary holds a BSc. in Global Business Administration and a post-graduate certificate in corporate leadership from Rice University in Houston.


Hunter Gustman
Chief Financial Officer

Hunter is the Chief Financial Officer of DHI and is based in Salt Lake City where he manages the company’s financial and administrative operations. In addition to his accounting and financial oversight responsibilities, Hunter contributes to strategic and operational decisions at DHI.

Prior to joining DHI, Hunter was an investment and operations professional for four years at Lincolnshire Management in New York City, where he was responsible for evaluating potential investment opportunities, obtaining financing for investments, and working closely with portfolio company management teams to develop and execute strategic plans. Prior to Lincolnshire, Hunter was an Analyst at Bank of America for two years in Charlotte, NC and New York, NY.

Hunter holds degrees in economics and statistics with honors from the University of Michigan.


Michael Northcott
Executive Vice President

Michael joined DHI in July 2016 as Vice President of Corporate Development prior to being promoted to Executive Vice President in January 2018. Based in Denver, Michael is accountable for the management, development, and growth of DHI’s service lines. 

Michael brings with him 37 years of experience in the oil and gas industry, including 18 years in general management and executive leadership. His experience includes rental services, asset management, field operations and maintenance, gas processing, small cap construction, offshore production operations and maintenance, asset engineering services, and EPC projects.

Michael has attended leadership and development training at the University of Texas  and the University of Chicago Booth School of Executive Education.
