Oil Skim Tanks

DHI’s vertical skimmer tanks are designed to remove oil from production water. The tanks have internal piping and weir systems that capture and collect free oil in the water for recovery and discharge to oil storage and treatment.

Our oil skimmer tanks clean the water by removing 99.9% of all free oil and most emulsions as well as delivering that same oil for revenue recovery.

The tanks are portable, easily deployed, and are equipped with flame arresting devices as well as pressure and vacuum relief devices. The tanks may be piped into vapor recovery or VOC capture equipment for emission reduction.

Sand Tiger

The DHI Sand Tiger™ works to cleanly and efficiently remove sand from flowback fluid.

The equipment receives high velocity flowback fluids carrying drilling and completion debris, sand, and large volumes of completion and formation fluids. The equipment uses parallel hydrocyclone gas diffusion systems that enhance the separation of heavy particles at the point of discharge into the system.

Gases and vapors can be captured from the hydrocyclones to be diverted to vapor recovery or disposal systems.

Liquids are transferred through the system, allowing for oil and water separation in the event that any hydrocarbons are recovered during the flowback.

Sand is removed from the fluids by heavy duty drag chain technology that pulls sand out of the system at rates up to 1,000,000 pounds per day. The chain system is engineered to prevent any overburden situation stalling the system and to manage a pull tension up to 25,000 pounds.

To further enhance the reuse of flowback water, the Sand Tiger can be run in tandem with DHI oil skimmers and reactor tanks for chemical dosing.
